Annual Club Meeting

Bear Heaven Campground

The 2025 Annual Club Meeting is returning to the Otter Creek Wilderness Area. We are meeting at the Bear Heaven Campground, which is a small primitive campground located outside of Elkins on Forest Road 91. The campground has eight available campsites that are nestled along rock outcroppings that offer some nice bouldering opportunities. Runs of various distances planned from the campground on the trails of Otter Creek.

This is a WVMTR Club Event that has no registration fee, but participants must register so there is an e-signed waiver and emergency information available. Members and non-members are welcome!

Schedule:

• 9:00 am: Doing what a running club does best! Guided runs of various distances are planned.
• 12:00 pm: Lunch: Pizza provided by WVMTR. Please bring drinks to supplement.
• 1:00 pm: General Membership Meeting. This meeting offers club members an opportunity to give input and direction to WVMTR and to gain insight into current positions and future goals. It is at this meeting where financial reports, RD race reports, and club suggestions are presented.
• 2:30 pm: Board of Directors Meeting.

Registration

Directions

From Elkins go east on State Highway 33 for approximately 11 miles, turn left on Forest Road 91 at the top of Shaver’s Mountain. Follow Forest Road 91 for approximately 3 miles. Bear Heaven Campground will be on the left.

The group run begins at Bear Heaven and will be on the wonderful trails of the Otter Creek Wilderness in the Monongahela National Fores
