[Closed] Item 6 New Business - 16th Annual Meeting

The WVMTR Annual Meeting was held in Helvetia last Saturday 1/13/18. It was cold and snowy. There was a 10 mile run, a very good meeting, lots of good food and fun. 

Treasurers report noted $29,088 in checking, $50,145 in savings. Membership director reported 443 members, $840 in donations came in with renewals to date.

A total 13 members attended the Annual Meeting, of this were 4 Bod members and 4 of our 11 races represented. Some RD's sent in written reports.

Andrew and Carissa were recognized for their work on the new website. A Flickr account has been set up to display race photos, RD's will upload. We will add the Annual Meeting to the Club Events page. 

It was a very productive meeting. Several proposals were discussed for the Board to consider including the need to develop a functional board nomination system and holding our Annual Meeting at a time and place more suitable to the membership. They will be presented below.

It was cold and snowy and fun.

the annual meeting is important and Helvetia is lovely, but difficult for some of us to get to in the middle of January. should the annual meeting be held in a more hospitable time of year?

If we all agree on a meeting place and time,  then those of us dedicated to WVMTR either as RDs or BOD members will do our best to attend. I agree Helvetia is fun and at the same time difficult to attend for some as it is, but change is good if done for bettering the chances of more attendees. If you want, as a group, to take suggestions on when and where this meeting should be I am down. This is in another Agenda item, I believe.
